| At approximately 4:15 p.m., the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the intersection of Richardson Avenue and Potomac Avenue for a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles.
Chief Pruitt responded with Command 2, accompanied by Ambulance 801, Rescue Engine 202 under the direction of Captain Lee, and six firefighters. The Crisfield Police Department also responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, Chief Pruitt established command, assessed the scene for safety, and determined the need for additional resources. Ambulance 801 began providing medical care to those involved, while Rescue Engine 202 was positioned in the roadway to protect the scene and control traffic. EMS 8 also arrived to assist with patient care. Firefighters extricated one patient by opening the driver's-side door and assisted with moving and loading the patient into Ambulance 801. Once the patient was safely removed, firefighters cleaned the roadway and cleared debris from the scene. Crisfield Police officers conducted an investigation into the accident.
At approximately 4:39 p.m., the scene was declared under control. Ambulance 801 transported one patient by ground to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
Command was subsequently terminated, and all Station 2 units, along with EMS 8, cleared the scene and returned to service. |
