Electrical Hazzard

At 9:57 p.m., the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 4600 block of Jacksonville Road following reports of an electrical hazard involving downed power lines with active fire.

Engine 203, staffed by Lieutenant Hinman and three firefighters, responded to the incident.

Upon arrival, Engine 203 confirmed that a tree had fallen onto the power lines and visible fire was present. Lieutenant Hinman established command and provided the utility pole numbers, requesting Delmarva Power to respond. Approximately 60 homes were reported to have lost power in the area. After an estimated 1-hour period on scene, Delmarva Power arrived and took over the situation. The incident was declared under control, and command was terminated. Engine 203 returned to service, and responsibility for the scene was transferred to Delmarva Power.
