At 5:16 a.m., the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 3400 Block of Country Club Road for a residential fire alarm activation.

Engine 203 responded, staffed with Assistant Chief Cavanaugh and five firefighters.

Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Cavanaugh found no visible signs of fire from the exterior. Assistant Chief Cavanaugh established command and began an investigation.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the alarm was caused by a faulty smoke detector. The situation was placed under control, and the homeowner was informed of the findings.

Command was terminated, and Engine 203 returned to quarters.
