At 6:06 p.m., the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 26000 block of Mariners Road for an automatic fire alarm activation reportedly triggered by a smoke detector.

Engine 203 responded, staffed with Assistant Chief Paro, an engineer, and four firefighters.

Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Paro established command and reported no visible signs of fire from the exterior of the residence. A thorough investigation was conducted after gaining access to the home, and it was determined that the source of the alarm was a faulty smoke detector. The homeowner was informed of these findings, and the situation was brought under control.

Command was then terminated and Engine 203 returned to quarters.
