Somerset County Emergency Services "Emergency Notification System update"

Somerset County has transitioned from CodeRED to Everbridge for emergency notifications. If you were previously registered through CodeRED, your information did not automatically transfer to the new Everbridge notification system.

Residents can be assured that there will be no interruption in Somerset County's ability to notify the public during emergencies. Information will continue to be distributed through multiple channels, including government emergency alert systems, television and radio outlets, the Somerset County Emergency Services website, and Somerset County social media channels.

The Department of Emergency Services uses the Everbridge Emergency Alert System to provide notifications during critical incidents or emergencies within the county. The system delivers alerts by phone, text, or email to the entire county or to targeted areas as needed.

Examples of alerts include hurricane warnings, tornado warnings, blizzard warnings, evacuations, boil water notices, missing child reports, and more.

The effectiveness of any emergency notification system depends on community participation. By registering for Everbridge alerts, residents help ensure the county can quickly notify the entire community or specific affected areas during emergencies such as severe weather, wildfires, public safety incidents, hazardous material events, or other urgent situations.
