Gas Leak Odor of Gas

The Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a gas odor at a commercial building.

Engine 203 responded with Assistant Chief Cavanaugh and five firefighters. Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Cavanaugh established command and began investigating the situation.

Assistant Chief Cavanaugh requested Ladder 2 to provide access to the roof and HVAC units.

Ladder 2 responded with Chief Engineer Nelson and two firefighters. Upon arrival, the crew assisted with the investigation.

The source of the gas odor could not be determined. The main gas supply to the building was turned off and the business was advised to close until repairs could be made and the area deemed safe.

The incident was placed under control. All units cleared the scene and returned to the station.
