The Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to assist the Deal Island Volunteer Fire Department with a reported house fire caused by a lightning strike. At 2:56 a.m., Ladder 2 was requested to provide aerial operations. Multiple agencies responded to the incident.

Ladder 2 was staffed by Lieutenant Hinman and one firefighter. Rescue Engine 203 responded with Assistant Chief Cavanaugh and one firefighter.

Ladder 2 and Rescue Engine 203 arrived on scene and provided support as directed by command. The situation was eventually reported to be under control, and units began to be released. The total time spent on scene was approximately two hours, with a combined crew of 20 personnel.

Ladder 2 and Rescue Engine 203 cleared the scene and returned to the station at 4:51 a.m.
