Extrication Entrapment

At 3:48 p.m., the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the area of 100 Somers Cove, at the playground of a residential apartment complex, for a report of a person stuck in a slide.

Rescue Engine 202, staffed with Assistant Chief Cavanaugh and five firefighters, responded to the scene. Engine 203, staffed with Lieutenant Evans and five firefighters, also responded, along with Ambulance 801.

Rescue Engine 202 arrived first, and Assistant Chief Cavanaugh established command and began the investigation. Ambulance 801 arrived and staged behind Rescue Engine 202. Engine 203 arrived and staged next to Rescue Engine 202. The Crisfield Police Department was also on location to assist.

The person was freed from the playground equipment and transported to Tidal Health in Salisbury for evaluation by Ambulance 801. The situation was declared under control at 4:03 p.m.

Command was terminated and all units returned to their stations.
