At 8:01 p.m., the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 1100 block of West Main Street near the dock for a reported electrical hazard. The caller reported seeing a photo on Facebook that showed an unknown object hanging from a utility pole.

Command 2 responded to the scene with Lieutenant Evans and two firefighters.

Upon arrival, Lieutenant Evans established command and began an investigation. The object was quickly identified as a Verizon box. The location of the utility pole was relayed to Somerset 911, and a request was made for a Verizon representative to respond. It was determined there was no hazard to the public, and the situation was brought under control.

Command was then terminated, and all units returned to quarters.
