October 11, 2026

At 3:12 p.m., the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Somers Cove, a residential apartment complex, for a reported fire alarm activation.

Engine 203 responded, staffed with Assistant Chief Paro, an engineer, and four firefighters.

Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Paro established command and began an investigation, observing no signs of fire or smoke on the exterior of the building. It was soon determined that the alarm in the reported apartment was false. The alarm had originated from the neighboring abandoned apartment, where evidence indicated forced entry. Command requested the Crisfield Police to respond to the scene. The situation was placed under control.

After a brief wait and a total on-scene time of 20 minutes, command was terminated and the scene was turned over to the Crisfield Police.
