July 4, 2026

On 7/4/2026, multiple area fire departments responded to a reported brush and grass fire in Marion. Chief Swift served as incident commander. A mutual aid request led to the deployment of several stations and initiated a tanker shuttle operation.

Tanker 200 responded to the scene with Lieutenant Hinman and two firefighters. Crews remained on site for approximately two hours to control the fire and ensure the area was safe. Due to excessive heat conditions, EMS Paramedic 4-1 was requested to provide firefighter rehabilitation services.

Once the situation was brought under control, all units were cleared to return to their stations. No firefighters were reported injured as a result of the excessive heat. Chief Swift expressed appreciation to all departments and personnel who assisted with the incident.

Units: Engine 307, Engine Tanker 512, Engine 306, Tanker 905, Tanker 3-2, Brush 5, Tanker 303, Tanker 200
