Elevator Rescue

The Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was alerted at 1:10 PM for a report of a person trapped in an elevator.

Command 2 responded with Chief Pruitt. Engine 203 responded with Captain Holland and six firefighters. Ladder 2 responded with Captain Lee and two firefighters.

Command 2 arrived at the scene, established command, and began investigating. Engine 203 and Ladder 2 arrived and staged as directed by command.

The elevator was located on the third floor with one person inside. Firefighters used an elevator key to open the door, allowing the individual to exit safely. The person did not require medical attention.

The elevator was taken out of service for repairs. Command was terminated, and all units cleared the scene and returned to their quarters.
