Extrication Entrapment

The Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 200 block of Somers Cove at 1:13 p.m. for a report of a person with their foot trapped in a storm drain.

Command 2, staffed by Chief Pruitt, responded to the scene. Ambulance A801 also responded to assist.

Upon arrival, Chief Pruitt established command and began an assessment of the situation. Paramedic unit A801 arrived shortly thereafter.

Chief Pruitt and the EMS crew successfully freed the individual and resolved the situation safely. The person was then transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The incident was brought under control, and command was terminated at 1:23 p.m. Command 2 returned to service as Paramedic A801 transported the patient.
